October 22- London Calling

A view of Buckingham Palace just outside the gates- kept waiting for William and Kate to come out on the balcony and kiss!

When I decided to start a blog I wasn’t planning on being in London for the first entry, but it’s a pretty awesome beginning! This week was big for me- the end of my first job out of school, beginning a new job, and now a three week Eurotrip…I could get used to this!

I arrived this morning at 6am after a frustrating flight trying to sleep without any success.  I even invested in a neck pillow from a Brookstone at Dulles before boarding, but no luck.  Madison met me bright and early at Heathrow (tricky with no cell phones- it was an interesting throwback) and took me to the AWESOME LivingSocial apartment (in Rudyard Kipling’s old building) where I passed out for four hours.  I think everyone knows that I am not capable of functioning after an all-nighter. =)

We explored the rest of the day- Big Ben, Westminister Abbey, Buckingham Palace and shopping on Bond Street. I now have a new tweed blazer to look more British (thanks Madison!). The air here is chilly- perfect fall weather for cuddling and relaxing in pubs. I’m excited to continue exploring this city – I am so lucky to be here, especially for celebrating the big 2-4!

Cheers,

Victoria
