Emily and I decided to take advantage of the three day weekend and explore the U street corridor and 9th street. We ended up at Tabaq for a roof-top brunch since Bistro La Bonne was closed for the holiday. As we were walking off our Eggs Benedict, a man dressed in gold sprinted past us. It was quite the sight – I’m assuming he is a member of a jazz band and was late for a show.
We loved walking down 9th street – it is an area I would avoid at night, but is definitely attracting new businesses and residents. There is a lot of great history in this area of DC – I’d like to do the touristy walking tour of Shaw some day. There are a lot of cute little stores that we plan on visiting when we aren’t so full from brunch. Any takers?
