My walk to class was so beautiful. It was the perfect temperature with a soft breeze, and in the upper Georgetown neighborhood the air was sweet of flowers and trees. I saw this hydrangea plant and had to snap a photo – it was the most beautiful shade of purple and blue.
Madison met me after class and we walked to a homemade ice cream shop on Wisconsin Ave and bought some cones to enjoy on the way home. These lyrics were in my head all day:
“And it’s a great day to be alive
I know the sun’s still shinin when I close my eyes
There’s some hard times in the neigborhood
But why can’t every day be just this good?”
