It was a long travel day but we made it back to RI in time to bring Madison to Newport for dinner. We tried out the Black Pearl which has the second best clam chowder I’ve had in my life. They use dill which I don’t normally like, but it worked well and it filled mah belly! It was hard leaving Maine this morning – the sun was out and the water was so calm. The photo above is of their dock, which (obviously) rises and falls with the tides – it was just really fascinating to see because the tides here are so drastic. At low tide the dock was at almost a 40° angle and at high tide it was almost flat.
