July 21 – I ate the oysters with their strong taste of sea

My first Oysters (already in mah belly) at Hank’s Oyster Bar

This girl had it going on today! Q1 AND Q2 Expenses and P&L statement DONE for Anchor Media! It was a rainy day so I didn’t feel like I was missing anything fun by spending time on Excel, and now I can cross it OFF THE LIST!

After dinner Madison and I met Darcey ( a fellow Rhode Islander and GW grad) and her boyfriend Greg out for drinks at Hank’s Oyster Bar, now practically an institution on 17th Street.  There, I was, shall we say – persuaded- (aka peer pressured) into trying my first oyster. The verdict: love. It made me feel warm inside and I tasted the ocean! It’s not something I will want all the time, or even large quantities of, but I very much enjoyed the experience!

“As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy and to make plans.”

-Ernest Hemingway, A Moveable Feast
