Woohoo! It’s October! I’m looking forward to crisp days, appley-goodness, my birthday, and yes, completing my V Life Challenge: a photo a day for a year. I can just taste the Victory now, along with homemade applesauce. I can’t believe I waited a full week before making something with our Stribling Orchard apples.
The recipe is simple:
-Peel and chop up as many apples as you have/want to use
-Dump them in a big pot and add some water (just enough to coat the bottom of the pan)
-Heat the apples, stirring more frequently as they get soft – until it’s the consistence you like (I like it chunky)
-You may need to add a little more water as you go
-Add some cinnamon when it’s done and enjoy!
This is a great recipe to use with apples that have bruises – we just chopped off all the brown spots and added the good parts to the pot. Two slices in, two in mah belly.
