October 17 – Ooo la la

A year ago, I was getting ready for a Euro-adventure, that would, of course, end in Paris. I can’t wait to get back to those wide boulevards and beautiful buildings along the Seine. Until my next trip I will eat my way through French restaurants in the US. Madison surprised me with a box of macarons from Paul today. They were so fresh and perfect. Caramel was the best tasting flavor in the box, but when I was traipsing around La France, I loved the rose and violet flavored cookies.  Do you have a favorite?

Today I also found the best-tasting pizza in DC – BIG day. District of Pi (on F and 9th) knows pizza. I tried out a vegetarian deep dish with some friends after a Social Media Club DC event and we all loved it. We were stuffed, and still had leftovers.  I’ll most definitely be back.

July 12 – Green Pig Bistro

Chocolate covered doughnut with peanut butter ice cream

After work I met up with Katrina and Kim, friends from class. I’d never been to this bistro before – it’s in Clarendon, and I feel funny sharing a photo of the dessert when it is clearly a carnivore’s hotspot but it was the best part of the meal.

DON”T go here for drinks (although their beer list looks nice) – none of our drinks were good. I had fried pimento cheese balls as an app and they were cheesy and moist (no dinner – Madison was making me a grilled peach and endive salad at home).  BUT, I did share dessert and it was a very good decision.  Hot chocolate cake – amazing and reminded me of Paris.  The other dessert was the doughnut pictured above, which was good but I thought a little over the top.  I don’t think I’d combine ice cream and doughnuts again, but it was an interesting exprience.

So glad we finally got together – our schedules (**my schedule) have been tricky this summer!

April 1 – Thank you

All good things must come to an end.  Everyone, I am very sorry to announce I will no longer be blogging for the V Life.  As you can see (I just had to catch up on 3 posts) I really don’t have time for this any more.  It is stressful trying to find time in my day to publish a post, and I really need to focus on my new business, Anchor Media. I officially started a social media consulting firm (follow along at @getanchored and http://pinterest.com/anchormedia/) and setting myself up is taking a lot of my hours outside my already heavy client schedule.

I loved sharing my adventures with you, and hope to find time in the future to do a similar blog. Until then, I will (of course) be tweeting @victoria_devine, and for those close enough to the V, please call/text!

I think this is a great post to end on (if I had to choose) because not only do I love this Spring photo, but it shows the symbol of my favorite city in the world… besides Paris. =) I had a great morning – biking to Eastern Market with Madison, trying a new Capitol Hill coffee shop, and enjoying a mid-day brunch with some great friends.

Thanks for following, and for all the comments along the way! You all are great!

February 10 – Paris, aux États- Unis

Sacre Bleu! IS that the Arc de Triomphe?

This morning, we woke up and decided to head over to Paris – you know- the fake one in Nevada.  There is a buffet breakfast called Le Village, and wanted to take it easy so we settled in and ate.  Honestly, the food was pretty mediocre, but I still loved thinking of Paris. =) We ate crepes and croissants and oatmeal and had to rest before attempting to stand up.  The weather here is absolutely perfect, sunny and in the 70s.  We walked the whole strip after breakfast to see the various theme hotels.  If I ever come back (which I’m hoping I don’t have to often) I think I’d like to stay in the Paris.  Are you surprised?  Although I would MUCH rather be in the REAL Paris, there was great french food in the hotel, which is right up my alley.

We switched hotels today.  Madison’s coworker bought a LivingSocial Escapes deal and wasn’t able to use it so he gave it to us! So nice! We are at the Palm now, and I’m excited to try out another hotel. I took a nap this afternoon and woke up feeling a little under the weather and they brought me a pitcher of OJ on the house! Such great customer service!

Tonight, we are going out to eat with Rachel’s roommate, Katie, and her boyfriend.  So random that we are here the same weekend! We haven’t decided where to eat but I think it’s narrowed down to someplace in the Cosmopolitan – I need to see those elevators Auntie Kelly talked about!
